My PRODUCE 101 top 11

With the PRODUCE 101 finally coming up, I thought it would be the perfect moment to show you what 11 girls I want in the PRODUCE 101 girl group in my top 11 girls from PRODUCE 101!

For those of you who don’t know what PRODUCE 101 is, let me give a quick description: PRODUCE 101 is a Korean survival show which started with 101 trainee girls from different companies. In the end there will be one girl group with 11 members who will be together for a year.

  1. Han Hyeri || Star Empire EntertainmentHan Hyeri is a contestant who didn’t grab my attention at all in the beginning (in my defense, there were literally 101 girls!), but suddenly I started to notice her in later episodes. Looking back at old performances, I think she would be a great addition to a girl group. She has that adorable vibe around her and her voice is adorable too. It is really different from most girls which makes her stand out from others.
  1. Jung Chae Yeon || MBK EntertainmentChaeyeon captured my attention with her performance of “into the new world”. She is a very talented girl who can transfer the emotions of a song very well (she is known for her facial expressions after all). She was always low key on my radar, but didn’t make my personal top 11 until now!
Chaeyeon is already part of a girl group though, a rookie group named DIA.
  1. Kim Se Jeong || Jellyfish EntertainmentKim Sejeong is the publics favorite contestant and it’s almost 100% sure that she will be in the group. She has amazing vocals and a adorable personality. I am confident that she will debut soon!
  1. Lee Hae In || SS Entertainmentproduce-101-lee-haein-photo18I think Lee Haein is the sexiest girl in PRODUCE 101 and she sure would get the group lots of male fans. But putting looks aside, she is amazing. She has an amazing stage presence and knows how to play a crowd. She is a great singer and dancer and just one of those all round talents!
  1. Zhou Jieqiong (Pinky) || Pledis EntertainmentPinky has captured me attention pretty early on. She slayed her center in episode 4 and she kept slaying since. She has that innocent vibe that most my favorite female idols have and I think she would fit right into a girl group. She also has a very sweet personality and I feel like she isn’t as greedy as most girls on the show.
  1. Ki Heui-Hyeon (Cathy) || MBK EntertainmentCathy has been in my top 11 from the start. Her skills are amazing and she is one of the best dancers on the show. Just like Chaeyeon she is already part of a girl group (DIA), but I still want them to win. There talent is just too big and they really deserve it. Also I hope this will get their group more publicity, because DIA is very underrated!
  1. Chungha || M&H EntertainmentFirstly I’d like to mention that Chungha is so drop dead gorgeous that I can’t even! But obviously this isn’t why I want her in the group.
Chunga is a very underrated girl and I wish people would pay more attention to her. They would see she is amazing at dancing and great at singing!
  1. Yu Yeun Jung || STARSHIP EntertainmentSTARSHIP Entertainment is known for its talented vocalists and Yeunjung is no expection to this. She was in my top 11 before, but never this high. She moved up after she slayed her high notes in the song “In the same place”
  1. Kang Mina || Jellyfish EntertainmentThe Jellyfish girls are the most popular girls on the show. Kang Mina is my favorite from them. She is just really cute and she seems like a genuinely nice person. She has that girl next door vibe that I love and of course her talent is on point!
  1. Jeon So Mi (Somi) || JYP EntertainmentAt first I wasn’t sure if I wanted Somi in there for her agency or her talent. But now I know it’s for her talent. In the beginning she was a bit stiff on stage, but she has improved a lot! Now she has the best stage presence on the show, my eyes always get drawn to her. She also has a adorable, funny and awkward personality which makes me love her even more. It was a really close call between her and my number one…
  1. Jeon So Yeon || Cube EntertainmentSoyeon has been my favorite from the first episode and even though Somi got close, Soyeon is still my number one. She is the best rapper from the group and has a very unique voice which would help a girl group stand out against others. Plus she looks and is adorable!
Her rank has been going down and it’s breaking my heart. Right now, it seems like she wont debut, but I really hope that changes!

Did you agree to my list? Who are your favorite girls from PRODUCE 101?

Jessica Jones; between the hero and the villain

jessica-jones-netflix

Marvel and Netflix working together might be the best thing ever. The two franchises are both amazing storytellers and they make each other even better. Marvel became deeper and more based on character, Netflix focused on one storyline. AND IT WAS EPIC!

Jessica Jones is not just a story about a superhero vs. a villain. It’s the story of the people in between, about the humans (with superpowers). Jessica is the most relatable and real character in the marvel cinematic universe so far. She has the ideals of a hero, but with the mindset of your everyday person with some serious trust issues. This causes for her to be bad ass and just overall amazing.

David Tennant plays the part of the bad guy, Killgrave (could his name be anymore obvious?) and he is the best marvel villain I have ever seen (sidenote: I never counted Loki as a villain so he doesn’t count). Inside I knew I should have hated him and I sort of did. But he had a way of getting to you, even without using his super scary power (mind control). I loved him, I hated him, I was scared of him and I wanted to hug him all at the same time. He was insane and he did needed to be stopped, but still, part of me wanted him to win.

“They say everyone’s born a hero. But if you let it, life will push you over the line until you’re the villain. Problem is, you don’t Always know that you’ve crossed that line” -Jessica

I could go on and on talking (read: ranting) about how good the show is, but there is only way you will believe. Go to your netflix and watch the show, I promise you that you will get addicted. If you are doubting, check out the trailer here. But I must give you a warning, there are some sex scenes in the show.. So… if you’re too young for that stuff… Wait till you are old enough..

The shadowhunters permiere; ruining a great story

shadowhunters-banner

After a great book series and a amazing movie comes… A hilariously bad tv show.

I didn’t have very high expectations of “The shadowhunters”, not after seeing the trailer. It seemed a bit cheesy and not dark enough to match the books that I love. But I gave it a chance and watched the first two episodes. And the show succeeded to be even worse than my low expectations.

I feel like they are trying to make the story more family friendly, but that’s a tad bit hard when you are dealing with a world as dark as the shadowhunter world. This makes the story seem fake and cheesy. But the cheesiness also comes from the script. The lines these characters are given are just not lines the book characters would ever say! Especially Izzy, Izzy is so out of character that it feels uncomfortable to watch. The actress looks the part and she certainly is one of the better actors in this show, but the lines are just so bad. First of all, in the books Izzy is super bad ass and in the tv show she does nothing but walking around and look hot (I have to say that she is pretty damn hot). Also Izzy is pretty much a bitch in the books and in the tv show she is just really nice and honestly, that just doesn’t makes sence.

The acting in the show is also pretty bad. Dominic (Jace) delivers his lines without any emotion or sass and Jace should be incredibly sassy to the point where it’s almost annoying. And don’t get me started on Kat (Clary). I mean, she is not the worst actress I have ever seen. But she isn’t very good. She overdoes the scenes a lot and that makes everything feel even more fake than it already did! The only actors so that I like so far are Alberto (Simon) and Harry (Magnus). But there is one actor that is really killing it, and that is Alan van Sprang who plays Valentine. Valentine is the only believable character in this show so far to be honest…

The only thing I felt could safe this show is Magnus, but Magnus is not even there. He was there for like two scenes and the scenes with him in the books are just skipped over in the tv show. Which bugs me since Magnus is my favorite character in the books. In the tv show, Magnus fled as soon as he got the chance, which is something book Magnus would never do as book Magnus isn’t easily scared. I hope they are going to explain this some more and that Magnus gets a character arc or something, because he is said to be one of the main characters in the tv show as well. I hope we see more of him in the future.

Even though I’m a fan of the pilot and the second episode at all, I will probably still watch the first season. Given my love for the story and I hope it gets a season two purely for the reason that my OTP doesn’t gets to be cannon until season two. But honestly, so far I have been nothing but disappointed at the Shadowhunters tv show and I can only hope it gets better in the future.

The abominable bride; Sherlock or Doctor who?

sherlock-special-hires-4-1

After waiting for two years for a new Sherlock episode, we finally got rewarded with one. A special episode set in the 19th century… It took me a couple of days to realize, I didn’t really like it…

When I watch Sherlock, I know what I’m going to get. Great acting, a interesting plot line, a murder that gets solved and a lot of gay subtext. For the most part this was the same in the special, but it didn’t feel like a Sherlock episode. Why? Because we never did solve the murder? No, that can’t be it. I can live with open endings (even if we do have to wait for another year to get some answers). Because it was about ghosts, probably, maybe. But “The haunts of Baskerville” is also about a supernatural monster and that does feel like a Sherlock episode… Then why did I not like it?

In the second half of the special, they kept throwing plot twists at us (which I am not going to spoil, don’t worry!). It came to a point where it was hard to follow the plot. And yes, most of it was explained, but it was still a bit too complicated for just a lazy night watching Sherlock. The plot twists also made it harder for me to feel for the characters, even though I normally love them!

Even though it was a Sherlock episode, I am afraid Moffat confused Sherlock with Doctor Who as I felt like I was watching Doctor Who. I think in the end, if Moffat had told me this was all the work of The Doctor, I would so believe it. But wholock is still a dream waiting to come true. (I am so getting off topic!)

I guess what I am trying to say is that the whovian in me loved the episode, but the sherlockian was dissapointed…

Scream queens season 1 review

scream-queens-645x370

A serial killer is on campus, killing every girl who pledged to the Kappa Kappa tau sorority. Who is killing these girls and why? And who will survive?

Scream queens is a new show airing on Fox, created by the same people who created American Horror Story and Glee. The show seems to be a perfect combination of the two shows. It doesn’t have the same amount of gore as American Horror Story, but still has that disturbing creepiness to it. It doesn’t have the same amount of dramatic story lines as Glee, but still provides interesting back stories and some real drama as well as some hilarious one liners like “Bitch, I’m ’bout to smack you so hard your tampon’s gonna pop out”

Even though this show is (in my opinion) amazing and worth the watch, it does take a few episodes to get into. At first it seems a bit all over the place, but after a couple of episodes everything starts to come together and the real craziness begins. Every episodes leaves you wondering who the hell the red devil is.

The characters seem superficial and two dimensional at first and some stay that way through the entire show. Like Chad, Zayday and Grace. The show is definitely not build on character, but on plot. Altough there is something about Chanel and her mean girl ways that make you love her and root for her to survive. For me, Chanel was the best character. She seemed very two dimensional at first, but as the episodes progress, you learn more about her live and she gets more layers than the rest of the characters have together.

Scream queens is a strangely addicting show which is definitely worth the watch if you’re looking for something original, strange or funny. It’s not on netflix yet, but you can stream it on amazon instant. If you need some more convincing to watch the show, watch the trailer.

Will Hook come back?

SPOILER WARNING: This blog contains spoilers for the once upon a time episode “Swan song”

204neverland

It has been three years since Captain Hook aka Killian Jones made his first appearance on ABC’s hit tv show, once upon a time. With his sexy accent, hot body and devilish smile he is the bad boy of many girls’ (including our main character Emma’s) dream. But that dream turned into a nightmare when he died. Now the hero squad is going to the Underworld to get him back, but will they succeed?

Disclaimer: everything I am about to write is my theory! We wont know what happens until the show comes back in March.

If you need to refresh yourself on Hooks’ death scene, go ahead. But I figure the scene is burned into most fans (especially the captain swan shippers) brains. “Let me die a hero” seems like the perfect ending for Hook.

The characters of once upon a time is going to the Underworld to save Hook and bring him back from the dead and back into the world of the living. “Underworld” sounds to me (and to a lot of other fans) like they are going to use Greek mythology. In Greek mythology there is a rather famous myth of Orpheus who (like Emma) tries to get his true love back from the death.

The story of Orpheus starts with his wife Eurydice dying from a snake bite. When Orpheus discovered her body he got overthrown by grief and played a song so sad that even the Gods cried. They advised him to go to the Underworld to get back his wife, so that is what Orpheus does. In the Underworld the hearts of Hades and Persephone are softened by his music so they let Orpheus take back his wife, but on one condition. Orpheus has to walk in front of his wife and isn’t allowed to look back at her until they reach the Upper world aka earth aka the land of the living. But once Orpheus reached the Upper world, he looked back at his wife. Forgetting that they both needed to be in the Upper world and that she was not there yet. His wife disappeared back into the Underworld, forever.

If my theory is right and once upon a time is going to use the myth of Orpheus in the second half of season 5, than Hook will not come back to the living. But given the fact that it is once upon a time and they do change stories a lot, you can never be sure.

What do you think will happen? Do you think Hook will come back? Watch the trailer for the next episode here.

Doctor who season 9 review

This season was definitely darker than the previous ones which I quite liked, as much as it hurt. Since I suck at doing overall reviews, I am going to split this up by storyline.

p032ks7f

The magician’s apprentice & The witch’s familiar
The first storyline of the series featured one of my all time favorite Doctor who villains, The Master. Or Missy as she is now called. I really enjoyed these two episodes and the dark theme it explored. The only thing that bugged me is that Clara and The Doctor seemed to blindly trust Missy and by now they should have learned not to do that. In the end it looked as if Missy died and I hope that is not the case, I really love her and I hope she comes back.

underthelake

Under the lake & Before the flood
I am not going to lie, I felt there were a couple of plot holes in this storyline and it did bug me a lot. It is not the favorite of this series, but it was still enjoyable.

doctor-who-the-girl-who-died-1-600x337

The girl who died & The woman who lived
These episodes introduced one of my new favorite character, Ashilda (or as she likes to call herself “me”). In the first we see her in this old viking village where she sort of puts everyone in danger against a warrior alien species, but she saves everyone and becomes immortal in the process. In the woman who lived we see her again in the middle ages where the Doctor helps her steal something and safe the world. I love Me, because she is such an interesting character. She is immortal, but has human memory so she forgets a lot and keeps diaries that can now fill a entire library. There are many layers to her and I hope we get to explore them in the next season.

zygon-invasion-main

The zygon invasion & The zygon inversion
“OSGOOD LIVES” was one of the first thoughts I had during this episodes. In the season 8 finally it looked as if she was killed by Missy, but our geeky nerd hero lives. This episode is a continuation of the 50th anniversary which at first seems random, but it will make perfect sense once you get to this seasons finally.
During these episodes, I got a little bit tired of the two episodes long story lines. But it was enjoyable and that anti-war speech the Doctor gives at the end of the zygon inversion.. so beautiful yet painful.

sleep-no-more-doctor-who-review

Sleep no more
This is the only stand alone episode in the season and it was confusing. I still don’t quite understand the ending and the whole episode was just one big “what the fuck?!” for me. It was scary and confusing and it wasn’t the best thing Doctor who ever produced.

doctor-who-face-the-raven-002-750x400

Face the ravenHeaven sent & Hell bent
Well these were three episodes of tears. It was announced before Face the Raven that that episodes would be Clara’s death and no one is ever ready for a companion dying. Her death was painful and beautiful at the same time. It was so Clara and it was the only way she could die in my opinion. She could only die saving someone’s life.
Heaven sent was a more experimental episodes and was really psychological, I myself loved it. But people who are more into the action side of the show hated it. But the plot twist at the end had me off guard, what do you mean Gallifrey is back?!
If you thought Face the Raven was painful, think again. The Doctor does some stupid things in order to save Clara’s life, including risking the entire fucking universe. And in the end, his memories of her were erased. “Run you clever boy and remember me” but he did not remember. And yes, I am still crying about it.

3 reasons why Clara was fantastic

WARNING: this post has spoilers from Doctor Who, if you haven’t seen until “Face the raven” and read this. You will be spoiled.

Clara Oswald, the loyal companion to the Doctor. Out of all the companion of new Doctor who, she is the one that stuck around for the most episodes and there was only one way to write her out. One horribly painful way, death.

Now it’s time to tell you why Clara Oswald was fantastic.

clara - everything you're about to say I already know

1 She was the impossible girl

Clara is also known as the impossible girl, this is due to the fact that The Doctor meets her twice (and sees her die twice) in different time eras before he meets the modern day Clara we all love. The first time the Doctor meets her is in the Victorian times where she is a governess in a town that is taken over by snow monsters. The Doctor menages to defeat them, but not before they kill Clara Oswald.
Later he meets in her in the future where Clara is held hostage on board a dalek ship, only to discover that Clara Oswin Oswald (as she is called there) is already turned into a dalek and there is no way of saving her.
And finally, he meets her in present day London and she becomes his companion. In the end of season seven, her mystery is solved when Clara literally jumps into the Doctors time line and get shattered all over his life and everywhere she was, she saved the Doctor’s life.

clara - governess

2 She was brave

Clara had many great qualities and honestly, if I were to write them all down. This would be an awfully long post. So I will focus on one, she was brave in many different ways. First of all, she was not afraid to chose her own path. The decide for herself what was right and wrong not not just blindly follow the Doctor like some other companions did.
Second, she would do anything she could to save people, even if it could end up in her own death. She wasn’t afraid to take risks and fight for what she believed in.

clara - let me be brave gif

3 She made the Doctor care

Twelve really was an alien, who thought himself above humans. But Clara changed that. She made him realize that he was one of them, that he was every bit as good or bad as the humans. Not only that, she got him to practice kindness (those little “things to say when you need to be kind” cards she made for him are too adorable!). Clara knew what he was capable of, even when she died. She knew he would get alone and emotional. She knew that the Doctor could get very dangerous and reckless in that stage, so she made him promise her he wouldn’t revenge her. Even with only a few moments to live, she made sure the Doctor would stay a Doctor, that he would stay good and that he would care.

clara - promise me

Clara was the impossible girl, she was brave and smart and loyal. And in the end, she greeted death like an old friend.

clara - death
